3 for 1

I've been gone for a week... which causes a bit of a challenge for me when it comes to creating cards for design teams, etc. I'm actually driving home today and will be back to creating soon. I'm looking forward to getting my fingers inky again. ;)

But, due to time constraints before leaving on my trip, I found it necessary to combine some themes/challenges into one card. Here it is...

Here's the inside of my card:

This card is for the new {PIN}Sprirational challenge that starts today and runs through May 6.

The picture that is the {PIN}spiration for this week's challenge is this one...

We have two great sponsors this week. They are:

and

Each of these sponsors gave images for the design team's use as well as a nice prize package for a lucky participant in the challenge! We love our sponsors!!!

This card is also for the Twisted Tuesday Challenge.

April 30 - May 13

Theme: Anything Goes

I hope you'll participate in both the {PIN}Spirational Challenge and the Twisted Tuesday Challenge.

One last thing, the Crafters of Fatih blog group posts their monthly card on the last day of the last day of the month, so this card was designed with that in mind, as well. Our theme thiis month is FLOWERS and as you can see I used Prima flowers and flower designer paper on my card.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

New Beginnings

The Calendar Girls blog group has a monthly challenge. One of us serves as the hostess, which means she chooses a theme and we all create based on that theme. Then we are supposed to post our creation on our blog on the 28th of the month. Today being the 28th, I have something to show you.

Carol was our hostess this month and her theme was

NEW BEGINNINGS

I chose to re-purpose some cards from a children's game for my card...

Recycle

If you come to my blog often, you KNOW that I love to use recycled items in my cardmaking. Therefore I was delighted when I found out what this week's ABC Challenges has for its theme.

April 22 - 28

Theme: Earth Day
Create a card using something recycled.

Please tell us in your blog post what item you recycled so we can ooh and ahh over your creativity!

Here's my card:

Can you tell what I recycled?

I used a part of a page from a children's book for my background paper.

It was such fun! I added some bling flowers to the grassy scene and of course I stamped another boat to float in the stream. Other than that, it was a pretty simple card. But a fun one!

Here's the inside of my card:

I used a small piece from another page of the book and stamped the sentiment on it.

I'm so glad you stopped by my blog today! Please join us in the Recycled/Earth Day Challenge at ABC Challenges this week. I'll be look for your card.

Congratulations Graduates!

Graduation time is just around the corner. In fact, in just 3 weeks, I'll be traveling to my niece's graduation from college. I am so proud of her! She has been working on her degree off and on for several years and she's about finished. On May 11th, I'll be celebrating her accomplishment with her.

She is a single mom and works full-time, yet she's made the time to study and reach her goal.

Congratulations, Kristi!

Sooooooooooo when I joined Barb's Congratulations swap - which is due just days before Kristi's graduation - I decided to make a graduation card. And in keeping with one of my goals this year (to CASE a project from Pinterest every month), I went to Pinterest in search of some inspiration. I found a link to the SCS gallery while perusing Pinterest and my idea began to take form. You can find the card for my inspiration by clicking here. I want to thank Ellen for the inspiration she provided for me!

Now, here's my card:

I decided to make it an easel card. It had been a while since I'd made one of them and thought it was about time to do so.

I hope Barb will like the card I made. I'm so excited! I'm going to hand-deliver them to her next week. YAY!!! I get to see Barb again!!!

Blessings

I have been enjoying Patter's Scripture/Hymn Challenge this year. It is such an uplifting experience to read her posts and then create a card based on the hymn of that particular challenge.

Today's card is Hymn #6 in the process. The hymn is Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing. Such a lovely hymn! If you'd like to hear it, click here.

I decided to print the hymn on designer paper this time. It makes it difficult to read the words, but I do like the way it looks.

Here's the inside of my card:

I used a sentiment from an Our Daily Bread stamp set.

April 16 - 29

Theme: Chocolate Buffet

Choose to use any of the following on your project: chalk, glitter, spritz spray, distress inks, or Copic markers. (I used Copics)

Twist: We want to see something that reminds us fo chocolate.

Here's my card:

The flower is made out of actual M & M wrappers. I punched them with a scallop circle punch, attached them with a big brad and then rumpled them.

Here's a closeup of the flower:

Isn't it colorful?
