Mother Nature Is Laughing

Okay... am I the  only one that thinks this scenario is funny? Darlene lives out east where they've been getting blasted time after time with HUGE snowfalls. Seriously! I have lost count of the inches, but suffice it to say, the snow they've received in the past 2-3 weeks is deeper than Darlene is tall.

Wait for it. That's NOT the funny part.

The funny part is Darlene is the one of the Dueling Darling Hostesses this month. She and LJ came up with the theme for the duel and then sent kits to their fellow team mates - Darlene to the Dazzlers and LJ to the Divas.... and they chose the theme for the February challenge...................

We're celebrating a little-known February Holiday...

Umbrella Day

Sheesh! Of course it's little-known.............. this is FEBRUARY!

And then to celebrate, Darlene's region has received more snowfall than I can even imagine.

So, tell me............ am I the only one who thinks that's a tad bit funny?

Darlene's kit isn't funny though. It's fabulous! She sent the Dazzlers:

Image/Sentimets: Penny Black April Showers
Designer Papers: ???
Gemstones: Paper Studio
Flowers: Paper Studio
Brads: Paper Studio
Assorted Ribbons: from her local craft store

Thank you , Darlene and LJ for a FUN theme! And thank you, Darlene, for the GREAT kit!

Please be sure and stop by all of the other Dueling Darling blogs to see what they've made. You'll find links in my left side bar.

The only thing I added to Darlene's kit to make this card is cardstock - Recollections Black and Stampin' UP! Perfect Plum

Sweet Bunny Greetings

I have been part of a group of swappers on SCS for some time now called the Unidentified Image swap group. Barb started this group, but every other month there is a different hostess. The hostess sends the images to the other group members and we all create with the same images.

Darlene is the current hostess and since the swap is due today so we can now show the cards we made. YAY!

Darlene sent us a Penny Black image called Bees and Honey. It really is an adorable image, Darlene. THANK YOU!

Here's my card:

Big News!

No, the news isn't about snow... though some parts of the United States have sure gotten a LOT of snow in the past week.

The news is - it's the 9th! Soooooooooooo it's time for the 3 Musketeers to show their stuff.

Every month the 3 Musketeers (Barb, Kelly, and myself) create a card using the same image that one of us chose and inked up and mailed to the other two. This month was my turn to choose. As often happens in this group, I decided to choose a stamp that I've had for quite some time - but never used. The reason I hadn't used it before was because I could never seem to figure out what to do with it, even though I love it. So what's a 3 Musketeer to do? Get her partners to help her out.

That being said, after you finish looking at my blog post, be sure to go to Barb's blog and to Kelly's blog to see what they made. Okay?

Here's my card:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Now, don't forget to check out what the other two 3 Musketeers did with this image. I'm sure you'll be glad you did... because Barb and Kelly are AMAZING!

Love Is in the Air

I don't normally care much for the $1 stamps at places like Michael's and Hobby Lobby, but a few years ago I admired an image on a friend's card and she told me that she got the stamp in the dollar bin. Not only that, but she went back to the store and bought another one - and mailed it to me! Wasn't that sweet!?!?!? THANK YOU, Terry!

I must say this is my most favorite $1 stamp EVER! and it didn't cost me  thing.

This "Cupid" stamp was perfect for the  new challenge at Sweet Stampin....

A Peek at My Week

It’s Friday, so it’s time for…

A PEEK AT MY WEEK

Something I loved about this week…

I was able to mark quite a few things off of my “To Do” list, which is a good thing… because me-oh-my! That was a HUGE list!

Something I learned this week…

A friend of mine contacted me early this week to let me know that she was applying to go on the same mission trip to the Dominican Republic that I’ll be going on in a few months. I’m so glad we get to have this experience together!

Somewhere I went this week…

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary on Wednesday – by going out for dinner. Chinese food. YUM!

Something I created this week…

Messes. Lots and lots of messes. Okay, so I also created some cards. And did I mention… messes.

Oh, and speaking of cards, I made this card with the fabulous JessicaLynnOriginal Brentwood stamp set…

Here's the inside:

Something I’m going to do this weekend…

I’m leading two break-out conferences for a women’s meeting this weekend. I’m super excited about that.

Something I want to accomplish next week…

I am leading an 11-hour workshop for Tutoring Children & Youth in a little over two weeks so next week will be spent working on getting ready to do that.

Did I take the 30-Minute Challenge this week?
What is a 30-Minute Challenge? Basically, I choose something to do – perhaps it’s an organization task that is calling out to me, or a topic I want to research, or (*gasp!) an exercise I want to try, etc. – and I set the timer and invest 30 minutes in that challenge.

No, alas, I did not.

SCORE TIME: Would I give this week a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down”?

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I appreciate you so much!
