I've been participating in the Gerda Steiner Progressive Challenge every month since March of this year. Everyone who participates gets the next month's image FREE. It's always kind of like Christmas waiting and wondering what the next image will be. And I'm never disappointed...... because Gerda Steiner images are way too cute! In fact, they make me smile!

Mid Week Peek at My Week

Okay, let me just say.... I don't have enough thumbs to indicate how GREAT this week has been. (Two thumbs up isn't enough!) Why??? Because we finalized the deal and we got to bring home my new car - a RED VW Jetta. I. am. so. excited! I'd been telling my husband - ONLY RED! Nothing else will suffice. But I wasn't really sure he'd agree. He did! And she is so pretty.

I named her Hot Sauce

I also was able to attend the True Woman Cry Out Conference in Indianapolis - Thank you, Carmen! It was amazing!!! I am a huge fan of Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth! And I'm now a fan of Keith and Kristyn Getty (and their band) too - fantastic music! If you haven't heard of them, click HERE to hear one of their hymns. WOW! (Oh, and if you want to hear the amazing - and unique - bagpipe, click HERE.)

Even with all my travels, I managed to make 9 cards this week.  I don't think that's too bad considering I was gone 5 days this week.

This is one of the cards I made:

I love the Brentwood image that Jessica (JessicaLynnOriginal) made for the Facebook Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop. He's so cute! And he's FREE!!! So rush over to the JessicaLynnStore and grab him while you can...... HERE!

All in all, it's been GREAT week!

Given with Love

This week's PDE Linky Party Challenge theme is ANYTHING BUT A CARD.

That is a stretch for me... but I'm told that a stretch is a good thing!

I sure hope you'll join the fun at PDE Linky Party and create ABAC. You have a week, the challenge will end on Thursday.

I made a gift box/bag:

Mid Week Peek at My Week

Whew! Seems like time has flown by since last Wednesday. Is it just me or do you think so, too?

For one thing, it was our little town's Fall Fun Fest. It lasts four days and each day is filled with vendor food, chatting with people we bump into, enjoying some local talent, as well as attending a concert featuring a Gospel Quartet from southern Illinois. Oh, and did I mention delicious funnel cakes!?!?!? There is a vendor there that boasts 34 flavors of funnel cakes. Who knew, right? So each year we get one to share among the three of us. We try to get a different flavor each year - but I have to admit, next year that may be more challenging than usual. Not because we've tried all 34 now... no, not by a long shot. But this year's funnel cake was so delicious....... I WANT ANOTHER ONE!

It was Chocolate Cherry! Oh. my. goodness!!!

Fun Fest isn't all we've done this week, though. We went to St. Louis one day. Had a little business to take care of there, but also got to eat at Sweet Tomatoes. Yum! And we had our association's Annual Meeting. It was the first one we've had since my husband became the Director of Missions of Greater Wabash Baptist Association - so that meant he was in charge. But truthfully, the meeting is successful because of the hard work of a lot of people. It truly was a great meeting.

And in addition to all this busy coming and going, I also managed to make twelve cards and completed two pages in my Bible Journal.

Here's one of the pages:

You are inscribed on the palm of his hand...
Isaiah 49:16

It looked better in my mind - but I keep reminding myself that I am fairly new to Bible Journaling and have never EVER done art journaling... so I am a beginner in every sense of the word.

SCORE TIME: Would I give this week a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down”?

Dainty Flowers

The Mystery Image swap group was hosted by Darlene this round and she sent us some dainty little images (SU - Flower of the Month) to use. She actually sent both the September and the October one and told us we could use either one or both - our choosing. I chose October, since my birthday is in October. I also chose to use pinks for my card (I don't use a lot of pink) because it reminded me of the common birthstone for October.

Darlene, thank you for making this round of the Mystery Image swap a lot of fun!

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat
in the Pumpkin Patch

JessicaLynnOriginal is launching a BRAND NEW stamp set today  - Brentwood Owl Trick or Treat Halloween. The design team (see my right sidebar for links to all the blogs) has been having a lot of fun creating with this new set and we're ready for today's special launch!

Of course the BEST place to start is at the JessicaLynnOriginal site - she has lots of information about this launch, including the exciting news about how someone is going to win the stamp set. Isn't that cool!??!?! So head to on over and check it out!

And be sure to go to the JessicaLynnOriginal store to check out the new stamp set - Trick or Treat in the Pumpkin Patch - and all her other amazing stamp sets, too.

Oh and go to the JessicaLynnOriginal Facebook page to check out all things JLO! It's always a fun place to be.

If you'd like to hear Jessica's voice and see her launch thoughts for this stamp set, you can find it on YouTube by clicking HERE.

Now, let me show you my cards - yes, I said cards. I have three of them.

First, the card with my favorite image from the stamp set (I do love me some Brentwood)...

My second card was made even before the design team had the actual stamps in hand. Jessica generously gave us the images in digital format ahead of production, so we could start playing. So, you will find this image on the stamp set, but it won't be this large.... and the image will be crisp and well-defined. For some reason (remember I'm having a huge learning curve with my new Apple computer) I somehow got a distorted image (blurry/full lines) when I tried uploading the digital image.

Saving the best for last - well, I don't know if it's best or not, but it IS my favorite card of the three (and it was so easy to make!!!), I used just a sentiment stamp from the set...

The cat is not one of the images in the stamp set - though there IS a cat in the set. The cat on my card is actually part of the designer paper.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
BTW, this is my second blog post of the day, so keep scrolling... the next one is the kickoff for a new ABAC Challenge at Sweet Stampin' and I really REALLY like what I made, which is rare, since I'm a mostly card kind of gal.

His Light Shines

It's time for a new Sweet Stampin' Challenge...

September 17 - 23
Theme: Anything But a Card
Sponsor: Live and Love Crafts

I hope you'll participate!

I decided to do another page/entry in my Journaling Bible:

The procedure is really quite simple. First I used an old (repurposed) gift card to carefully smear acrylic paint (Masters Touch) a'll over the area I would be using. This helps prevent bleeding and shadowing on the backside of the page. I chose a cream color that closely matched the page itself, since I really didn't want the paint to be the focus.

After the paint was dry I stamped the lightbulb (Unity "Light Bulb Moment") with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used an Illustrated Faith marker to draw the line that represents the cord that the light is hanging from.

When the ink had dried, I carefully attached a Sun Ray (My Favorite Things) stencil to the page and used a makeup wedge to add the Tim Holtz "Squeezed Lemonade" distressed ink to the page. Again, I allowed time for it to dry.

Finally I added a few rhinestones (Recollections) and highlighted the scripture verse that was the focus of this journal entry.

You light a lamp for me,
The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
Psalm 18:28

Time to Pray

Aren't you loving the new format at PDE Linky Party

This is the third Friday of September, so the challenge is to make a tag. hmmm... not my area of expertise, but I gave it my best attempt.

After I'd made the tag - which I didn't think looked too bad - I played it on top of a page in my Journaling Bible and I kind of liked the way it looked there. So I decided to adhere it to the page and make a journal entry out of it.
